Well Why 26 Deeds?

Why Should You Care?

Here 's Why:

 Our site is named in honor of

those 26 that were lost

in the Sandy Hook Elementary School Massacre in Newtown, CT.

The word "deed" lots of times is more or less associated with real estate matters.  Perhaps this why the word "acts" was chosen for the 26 acts challenge  - not "26 deeds" However, the  old-fashioned word "deed" has been around for centuries - including in the Bible. Yet, the word "deed" and "act" can practically mean the same thing: something that is performed - as in done. So we accept Ms. Curry's challenge of doing "26 random acts of kindness." 

But why stop at 26 deeds/acts?  After all, there are thousands of people that do numerous good deeds/acts on a daily basis - without calling attention to themselves. Personally the idea of only doing 26 random deeds/acts is silly  (as in making a lifetime quote of only doing 26 kind deeds) - but hey it's better than not doing nothing at all. 

However, we refuse to follow the #26 acts bandwagon entirely; Kindness is not just a fad or trend that some famous person setting "viral trending" into motion: Humanity depends and survives on deeds/acts of kindness. BECAUSE SADLY TRAGEDY HAPPENS ALL THE TIME EVERYWHERE. Therefore we need to cultivate kindness everyday.
